Man docked for stealing N340,000
A 22-year-old man, Ismail Olayiwola, on Thursday appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for stealing N340, 00 from Welleasy Empowerment Centre.
Mr Olayiwola is facing a charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor, Insp Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in October 2021 at Bode area of Ibadan.
Mr Amusan said the defendant stole the money belonging to the company, which was represented by Abayomi Alabi.
He said the offence contravened section 390(6) of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The magistrate, Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, granted the defendant bail of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ms Amole-Ajimoti ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
She adjourned the case until June 15 for mention.
