Man in court over alleged theft of generators worth N2 million

One Quwuli Ajegbe, 25, was on Tuesday arraigned at a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged theft of two generators valued at N2 million.
Ajegbe, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing when the charges were read to him.
The court’s President, S.M Akintayo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
Mr Akintayo said that the sureties must provide evidence of three years tax payment to the Oyo State Government.
She adjourned the suit to May 6 for trial.
The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Ayodele Ayeni, earlier told the court that the defendant committed the crime on January 12, at about 4p.m, at the Ibadan North Shopping Complex, Bodija, Ibadan.
Mr Ayeni further said that Ajegbe, together with others still at large, stole the generators valued at N1 million naira each, belonging to one Tajudeen Nurudeen and Olayinka Ojo.
He said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 38 Vol. II law of Oyo State 2000.
