Man killed his brother because he had a bad dream: Police

The police command in Oyo state, on Wednesday, said it arrested a 43-year-old man, Lateef Suleiman, for killing his brother, Mustapha Amidu.

The police command in Oyo state, on Wednesday, said it arrested a 43-year-old man, Lateef Suleiman, for killing his brother, Mustapha Amidu. 

The suspect alleged that his brother shot him in a dream the previous night.

In a statement by its spokesman, Ayanlade Olayinka, the command disclosed that the murder was reported at the Ago-Amodu Divisional Police Headquarters, Sepeteri, by a complainant, Badmus Yunisa.

Mr Suleiman attacked and killed his 52-year-old elder brother after accusing him of shooting him in a dream the previous night. 

Motivated by his dream, the suspect allegedly approached his elder brother, struck him with a rock and immediately fled the scene.

The victim was confirmed dead at a hospital.

According to the police, the accused admitted to causing the death of his sibling.

The police commissioner, Femi Haruna, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
