Man prays court to compel ex-wife to allow him see children

Mumini Abdulgaffar, on Thursday, dragged his former wife, Rabi’atu Mustapha, to a Shari’a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, seeking access to his children.
Mr Abdulgaffar said he divorced Ms Mustapha in 2019, adding that she got custody of the children from a court in Kwara and had been living with the children in Kaduna.
”I live in Lagos, and I am praying the court to give me access to my children, a boy and a girl, aged 13 and 11. My former wife has refused to allow me to see them. I can’t speak to them on the phone or visit them. All efforts made by me to see my children failed,” he said.
The complainant prayed the court to grant him access to his children through phone calls and WhatsApp video calls and for him to be able to visit and spend time with them.
In her defence, the defendant’s counsel, Auwal Shamsu, denied the allegations made by the complainant.
He informed the court of his intention to file for competency of the suit because the case before the court was inconclusive.
The judge, Mu’awiyya Shehu, asked the complainant to provide his witnesses before the court on August 4 for hearing.
