Man United beat Tottenham 2-0 to clinch fourth consecutive league victory

Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes scored as Manchester United defeated 10-man Tottenham 2-0 at Old Trafford to make it four consecutive wins for the Red Devils in the Premier League.
The result meant that United are yet to drop a point in the league since Michael Carrick took over from Ruben Amorim as interim manager following the dismissal of the Portuguese coach earlier this year.
Tottenham were reduced to 10 men in the 29th minute when captain Cristian Romero was sent off for the second time in the league this season following a dangerous tackle on Casemiro.
Boosted by the numerical advantage, United grabbed the lead nine minutes later through Mbeumo, who slotted home a corner kick from Kobbie Mainoo to put the Red Devils ahead.
United’s attacking threat continued upon resumption of the second half but several brilliant saves from goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario kept on denying the hosts from doubling the advantage.
However, the Red Devils finally managed to break the second half deadlock in the 81st minute after a cross by Diogo Dalot went over several players before Fernandes put the ball past Vicario with one touch.
Substitute Benjamin Sesko had the opportunity to enter the score sheet with the last kick of the game following a cross from Fernandes but the forward failed to convert the chance as he went one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
United will temporarily remain fourth on the table with 44 points until the remaining matchday fixtures are concluded. It is the first time the Red Devils have recorded four successive league victories in almost two years.
