Manga assumes duty as 14th commander NNS Jubilee

Commodore Mohammed Manga, on Friday assumed duty as the 14th Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Jubilee, Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Mr Manga reaffirmed his commitment to the vision, mission and philosophy of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS).
He reiterated his commitment to strict compliance with operational directives to address prevailing security challenges.
Mr Manga thanked the CNS, Vice Adm. Idi Abbas for the confidence reposed in him, and pledged to maintain high level readiness to operational directives.
He said, “I commend my predecessor for the achievements made, I pledged to consolidate on existing gains. I solicit the cooperation and support of all personnel to ensure effective discharge of the command’s mandate.”
In his remarks, the outgoing Commander, Commodore Abubakar Umar, thanked the personnel and civilian staff of the naval formation for their support and cooperation during his tenure.
Mr Umar listed his achievements in office to include facility upgrade, transformation and personnel welfare improvement among others.
“I urge all personnel to extend the same loyalty and cooperation to my successor, in order to ensure continuity and sustained progress,” he said.
The event witnessed the signing of handover notes, and the handing over of the ship’s flag and staff of office.
