Sen. Kabiru Marafa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has tasked the Zamfara government to investigate the alleged killing of an Islamic scholar, Imam Abubakar Mada, in Mada in Gusau Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central at the National Assembly from 2011 to 2019, said this in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday.

He condoled with the immediate family of the slain cleric, the Jama’atu izalatul Bidi’a (JIBWIS) national leader, Bala Lau and his followers.

“The state government should, as a matter of urgency, arrest and commence an open, thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to the brutal murder of Mada,” he said.
