The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has donated a car and 10 motorcycles to the All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups led by Salisu Dawa to support APC campaigns in Zamfara.

The publicity secretary of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee (MPSC), Yusuf Idris, said this in a statement on Sunday.

Mr Idris said the minister also donated N6 million and 40 bags of assorted grains to two families who recently lost their loved ones in Zamfara.

Mr Idris said N3 million and food items were donated to the family of the late Sanusi Lilo, former director-general of the Zamfara Investment Company, who died recently.

He said the minister also gave N3 million and food items to Aminu Matawalle-Yandoto, who recently lost his wife, Zainab.

Mr Idris said the food items, comprising 40 bags of assorted grains including rice, maize and millet, 20 cartons of macaroni, spaghetti and groundnut oil, were distributed separately to the two bereaved families.

“The donations were presented to the beneficiaries by the chairman, Matawalle Political Standing Committee, Ibrahim Isa-Mayana, on behalf of the minister.

“The heads of the bereaved families and APC support groups commended Matawalle for the gesture,” Mr Idris revealed.

Mr Lilo died recently in an auto crash along the Zaria-Kaduna Highway, while Mrs Zainab died recently in Gusau following a brief illness.
