May God deliver Buhari from wicked counselors: Bakare

Pastor Tunde Bakare of The Citadel Global Community Church has said that president Muhammadu Buhari is surrounded by wicked counselors who do not tell him the truth of happenings in the country.
In an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Mr. Bakare said Buhari had high acceptance and profile when he was elected as president in 2015. Today, however, Buhari’s acceptance and profile is “so low”.
“When Buhari came into power in 2015, his profile was so high. But when you look at it today, it is so low. That is the truth,” Mr. Bakare said.
“One of the things I pray for President Buhari is that God should deliver him from wicked counsels and counsellors who tell him life is sweet and that everything is going fine but without giving him the reports from the streets.”
Mr. Bakare, who was Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election, said Buhari must act now to leave a legacy or he might be a president who has no achievement to attribute to his administration.
“In 2015, it seemed as if we had a long time. But, four years had gone and we are into the second year of second term administration which is going to end soon” Mr. Bakare said. “Time is going and anyone who is thinking of legacy is the best time to go into action, without that it would just be that he came, he left and not much can be ascribed as achievement of his administration.”
During the same interview, Mr. Bakare backed the widely condemned attempt by the Buhari administration to regulate social media.
