MC Oluomo emerges NURTW national president
Musiliu “MC Oluomo” Akinsanya, the former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State, has been elected the union’s national president.
MC Oluomo was elected by delegates from Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states at the NURTW’s zonal secretariat in Osogbo on Saturday.
The acting national president of the union, Aliyu Issa-Ore, represented by the head of finance at the NURTW’s national headquarters in Abuja, Adedamola Salam, said the election followed the compliance of the zone with the union’s constitution.
The election also produced Tajudeen Agbede as the vice president, South-West and Akeem Adeosun as trustee from the zone.
Addressing members after taking the oath of office, Mr Akinsanya urged unity and peace in the union.
“I have forgiven everyone that offended me, and I wish those I offended would forgive me as well. This is our union, and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood,” he said.
