Boxing legend Mike Tyson has predicted a victory for Tyson Fury in the scheduled bout against Anthony Joshua scheduled for later in the year.

The unification professional boxing match will produce the first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion in 21 years. The title was last held by Lennox Lewis in 2001, winning the belts from the four major boxing governing bodies: WBO,WBC, WBA and IBF.

Anthony Joshua (AJ) currently holds the WBO, IBO, IBF and WBA belts while Tyson Fury parades with WBC and The Ring Belts.

The Nigerian-born British boxing champion has a standing record of 24 wins and just one loss with 22 being knockouts while Tyson Fury has 30 wins with 21 being knockouts.

While speaking with Florida based magazine, Haute Living, Iron Mike, as he is popularly called, added that the loss of Deontay Wilder to Fury could be used to predict the loss of Anthony Joshua too.

Mike Tyson described AJ to be too slow for Fury and hinted that AJ might be unable to land many blows on Fury due to his slow speed of his punches.

Tyson picked the speed assessment by comparing Deontay Wilder’s speed with AJ’s and implied that Wilder who had a better speed than AJ was still unable to throw an adequate number of punches at Fury.

The former world heavyweight champion acknowledged the impressive weight of AJ’s punches but casted a doubt on the probability of successively landing those punches on Fury.

The Joshua-Fury double-bout is reported to be worth £200 million with agreement of the first fight having a 50-50 ratio share while the return will give the winner an edge of 20 per cent more in 60-40 ratio.

Fury, the Gypsy King, had threatened to knock Joshua out in the first three rounds in a video dropped on social media after Joshua confirmed he is not afraid of fighting Fury in his victory speech after defeating Kubrat Pulev.

Anthony Joshua fell to a defeat in his first bout against Andy Ruiz jr while he staged a victorious comeback in the return bout of December 2019. In about a year after, Joshua fought and defeated Pulev in a compulsory challenge fight by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).

Fury on the other hand knocked Deontay Wilder out in the seventh round of their first bout in the second month of 2020. The bout was arranged to come with a conditional rematch which Wilder immediately demanded but was canceled amidst Wilder’s injury and coronavirus pandemic coming with a ban on sporting activities.

The two British boxers , AJ and Gypsy King will be battling for the pride of who is the biggest and strongest British boxer of the 21st century.

The fight’s venue and date are currently being processed by the organisers who have rumoured Saudi Arabia and the United States as the possible location of the prestigious bout.
