Military board engages veterans over new pension rates

The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has engaged representatives of military veterans’ associations to clarify the implementation of newly approved pension rates.
The consultative meeting, held on Friday in Abuja, addressed concerns raised by the representatives and explained the process for implementing the new rates.
This is contained in a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sqn-Ldr Aliyu Mohammed, in Abuja.
Mr Mohammed said the engagement also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss pension-related issues and strengthen mutual understanding.
He stated that the veterans’ representatives welcomed the explanations and appreciated the opportunity for direct engagement with the board.
According to him, the board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners, promising transparent communication and constructive engagement with stakeholders.
He stated, “It also assured stakeholders that it would address pension-related concerns within its mandate and encouraged continued dialogue through established communication channels,” he said.
