Mohbad sustained injury fighting Primeboy; treatment resulted in his death: Police

Nigerian police have linked the controversial death of late musician Mohbad to treatment of the injury he sustained when he fought his childhood friend, Ibrahim Owoduni, aka Primeboy.
Lagos State commissioner of police, Idowu Owohunwa, disclosed this on Friday while giving update on the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death in a press conference.
“Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni aka Primeboy is a childhood friend of Mohbad. He attended the show at Ikorodu in Mohbad’s company on 10th September 2023,” Mr Owohunwa said.
The police commissioner further said Primboy is held as a suspect because the late musician died in the process of treating an injury he sustained while fighting Primeboy.
“At the end of the show, Mohbad and Ibrahim were engaged in a violent fight during which Mohbad was injured. The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death. So he (Primeboy) is being treated as a suspect,” Mr Owohunwa said.
The police, on Wednesday, declared Primeboy wanted, accusing him of failing to honour invitation for question over Mohbad’s death.
Primeboy, however, surrendered himself to the police on Thursday, denying involvement in his childhood friend’s death and that he is on the run.
