Motorcyclist remanded for defiling three-year-old girl

Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court has remanded a 32-year-old motorcyclist, Sunday Akinola, at the Kirikiri Prison custody for defiling a minor by inserting his fingers in her privates.
Chief Magistrate B. Osunsanmi refused to listen to the defendant’s plea and ordered that he be remanded until September 21 for the director of public prosecution’s advice.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed on August 18 at No. 8 Ifelodun Street, Igando, Lagos.
Mr Akeem said the defendant was caught carrying the three-year-old girl on his lap and inserting his fingers in her private parts.
He said the woman, one of his neighbours who caught him, raised the alarm, and he was apprehended when he tried to run away.
The offence said the offence contravened section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
