The Federal Fire Service says it salvaged a property worth N5.34 billion from three blazes recorded in Kano in August.

The controller in Kano, Sadiq Usman-Mahmud, announced this in a statement signed by the command’s spokesman, Al-Hassan Kantin, on Tuesday.

Mr Usman-Mahmud said no lives were lost in the blazes, although fire destroyed property worth N1.26 billion during the period.

According to him, the FFS did not receive any false alarms or emergency calls from residents during the month.

“The service did not receive any false alarms, and there were no emergency calls from residents of the state,” he said.

The controller urged residents to exercise caution when handling fire and to switch off electrical appliances before leaving their homes to prevent fire outbreaks.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.
