Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue says his administration has completed a significant number of projects and that many others are going on across the state.

Mr Alia made the disclosure in Makurdi while addressing the All Progressives Congress (APC) expanded caucus meeting.

The governor said that some of the roads linked local government areas, many other roads were within Makurdi, the state capital, while some were federal roads.

He said more industries were coming up with health facilities across the state, undergoing various forms of transformation.

Mr Alia explained that 554 public primary schools across the state were undergoing renovation and some reconstruction, adding that more teachers were recruited to restore the lost glory of public primary schools in Benue.

The governor disclosed that there were also strategic efforts to revive the agricultural sector to sustain the food basket status.

He acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and the service chiefs in the war against insecurity, emphasising that the war must be won and total peace restored across Benue communities.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the state acting chairman of the APC, Benjamin Omale, said the meeting was an avenue for dialogue and resolution to move Benue forward.

He said the governor has made the party proud within the two years of his administration and called on the people to be united and re-elect him and Mr Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking for the people of the Benue North East Senatorial District, Stephen Ugba, said Mr Alia has succeeded in unlocking Benue’s potential to the world.

Mr Ugba, who is a member of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission, assured the governor that they would ensure his re-election.

Former Gwer/Gwer West Federal Constituency APC aspirant David Nongo, who spoke for the Benue North West Senatorial District, said the governor has restored the dignity of Benue people.

Mr Nongo said he and the secretary to the state government would ensure that all eligible people acquire voters’ cards to enable them to vote for the governor and the president.

Former Benue deputy governor, Steven Lawani, who spoke for the Benue South Senatorial District, commended Mr Alia for his developmental strides.

Mr Lawani urged him to include more people from the zone in his next appointments.
