A 54-year-old woman, Blessing Mormah, has approached the Igando Customary Court seeking the dissolution of her marriage owing to her husband’s alleged sexual incompetence.

Mrs Mormah, a beautician, asked the court on Tuesday to dissolve her 25-year-old marriage, alleging that she was forced into it and could not continue with the marriage.

“Also, his manhood is not working,” she said. “When I found out, I took him to hospital and drugs were prescribed for him but he never used them. He always said nothing was wrong with him.”

Stating that they have five children, Mrs Mormah said they fight too often and her husband often asks her to vacate their matrimonial home.

“I am fed up with this lifestyle so I moved out eventually. He also has no regard for my family,” the beautician said.

She further told the court to grant her a divorce since they have been living apart for a year and that the court should grant her sole custody of their last child who is six years old.

The respondent, David Mormah, was not available to give his own account.

The president of the court, Koledoye Adeniyi, later adjourned the matter to May 12 for judgement.
