My visit to APC chairman Yilwatda personal: Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described his visit to Nentawe Yilwatda, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as entirely personal.
Mr Wike, who stated this during a project inspection in Abuja on Wednesday, said he did not practice “politics of enmity.”
“We were all colleagues before he left for the chairmanship of APC. So, what I should do anytime I see him is to hide? Anytime he sees me, he should run away so people will not say something?” the politician stated.
Mr Wike visited Mr Yilwatda at his residence in Abuja on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Mr Wike insisted that political differences should not prevent cordial relationships among public officials.
The minister added that he was under no obligation to disclose details of his private life or social interactions.
He also warned against reading political motives into ordinary social engagements, stressing that his focus remained on governance and service delivery in the FCT.
“What is important to me is what I am doing for my people,” the politician stated.
Mr Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is serving as a minister under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.
