NAF unveils community health intervention projects in Kano

The Nigerian Air Force has inaugurated a newly constructed paediatric ward and a renovated general ward at the Gwagwarwa Comprehensive Clinic and Maternity Centre in Nassarawa LGA, Kano.
This was disclosed in a statement by the air force on Friday.
The projects were executed under the chief of the air staff, Hasan Abubakar’s Special Intervention Quick Impact Projects initiative, in honour of AVM Kabir Umar, according to the statement.
He said the intervention involved the completion, furnishing, and equipping of the paediatric ward as well as a full renovation of the general ward with solar lighting and 20 hospital beds.
The projects, he said, also included modern medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, radiant warmers, and pulse oximeters.
The statement quoted the CAS as saying the initiative was part of the air force’s non-kinetic efforts to strengthen ties with host communities and improve their well-being.
Mr Abubakar urged residents to take ownership of the facility and support security agencies with timely information to sustain peace. He also reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to community-driven projects that enhance quality of life and strengthen public trust.
“This project reflects our belief that national security is best sustained through cooperation and mutual trust between the military and the people we serve,” Mr Abubakar said in the statement.
Governor Abba Yusuf commended the air force for its people-oriented initiatives and partnership in advancing healthcare delivery.
“This project brings renewed hope to our people and complements our administration’s efforts to make quality healthcare accessible to all,” he said.
