NAFDAC lauds Gov. Yusuf for transformational leadership in Kano

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commended Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State for his transformational leadership and reforms.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Saturday said NAFDAC’s director-general, Mojisola Adeyeye, expressed the agency’s readiness to collaborate with the state government in strengthening public health regulation and combating substandard medicines.
Mr Yusuf welcomed NAFDAC’s proposal for partnership and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing public health and ensuring the availability of safe and effective medicines in the state.
The governor commended Ms Adeyeye’s leadership and NAFDAC’s commitment to safeguarding the health of Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the governor has urged local government councils to hold regular security meetings to enhance vigilance and coordination among communities.
He emphasised the importance of grassroots intelligence sharing and cooperation between communities and security agencies during a State Security Council meeting.
Mr Yusuf identified five local government areas—Shanono, Tsanyawa, Tudun Wada, Doguwa, and Gwarzo—as requiring special attention due to security threats.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, stressing that security remains a top priority.
