NAMA, Air Force strengthen tie on airspace safety

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has reiterated its commitment to strengthen collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to bolster airspace management safety and air security across Nigeria.
NAMA managing director Ahmed Farouk said this in Abuja when he paid a courtesy visit to Hassan Abubakar, NAF’s Chief of Air Staff, in his office.
The meeting outcomes were contained in a statement by Abdullahi Musa, NAMA spokesman.
According to the statement, the NAMA boss recognised and appreciated NAF’s critical role in safeguarding Nigeria’s airspace.
Mr Farouk said the collaboration between the two entities would enhance airspace management, safety, and security nationwide.
On his path, Hassan underscored the importance of maintaining a steadfast commitment to the partnership toward the safety and efficiency of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Mr Hassan urged NAMA’s cooperation in achieving the final accreditation of the Air Traffic School Training Centre (ATSTC) in Kaduna.
According to him, the accreditation will contribute significantly to bolstering manpower and capacity within the Nigerian Air Force and civil aviation.
“The partnership between NAMA and the Nigerian Air Force represents a shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria’s airspace.
“By fostering collaboration and pursuing innovative initiatives, both organisations aim to elevate the standards of airspace management and enhance the overall aviation landscape in Nigeria,” he added.
