Nasarawa assembly gets new clerk, deputy clerk
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Musa as the substantive clerk of the House.
The Speaker of the assembly, Danladi Jatau, announced the appointment during the House proceedings in Lafia on Monday.
Starting on December 6, 2023, Ibrahim Musa served as the House’s acting clerk while Ego Abashe, the late clerk, was ill and passed away on March 1, 2025.
The speaker also announced Paul Okugya as the deputy clerk of the House.
Before Mr Okuggya’s appointment as deputy clerk, he was director of protocol of the assembly.
The speaker congratulated them on their new elevations.
Mr Jatau wished them well in their new assignments just as he directed members to observe a minute’s silence in honour of the late clerk, Ego Abashe.
