Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving minimum wage for staff of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia.

Mr Abel Bala, the chairman of the committee, gave the commendation on Wednesday when the management of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Lafia, and the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, appeared before it.

Also appearing before the committee was the Ministry of Education, Lafia, which appeared separately to discuss its 2026 budget performance in Lafia.

Mr Bala said that the payment of the minimum wage had not only improved the standard of education at the institution but also improved the standard of living of the institution’s staff.

He also appreciated the governor for providing infrastructure in schools and across the state.

The committee chairman said that the oversight function was to ensure that ministries, agencies and departments adhere strictly to their budgetary provisions.

“I want to commend His Excellency, Engr. A A Sule for approving minimum wage for staff of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia. I also want to appreciate His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, for giving attention to the committee to succeed.

“His Excellency has a passion for education, science and technology and development of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia,” he said.

The committee chairman assured them of the committee’s continued support to help them succeed.

Mr Bala, however, appealed to Mr Sule to give more attention to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation for the development of science and technical education in the state.
