Nasarawa generated N16.5 billion revenue in eight months: Official

The Nasarawa Internal Revenue Service says it has generated N16.5 billion from January to date.
Ahmed Yakubu, the service’s executive chairman, disclosed this when he appeared before the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation for its 2025 second-quarter budget performance review on Tuesday in Lafia.
Mr Yakubu attributed the agency’s success to the support it enjoyed from Governor Abdullahi Sule and the assembly.
He stated that the revenue generated within the period came from mining, banks, construction companies, and other sources.
The chairman assured the committee of his commitment to exploring more ways to generate revenue for the government.
The committee chair, Hudu Alhaji, said the exercise was aimed at assessing the service’s budget performance for the second quarter.
Mr Alhaji appreciated the management of the service for the improvement in its revenue generation for the state.
He urged the service to sustain the tempo in generating more revenue for the government going forward.
The committee chairman assured the service of collaboration and support to enable them to achieve their set target in revenue generation.
