The speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has urged the youths to be agents of peace and positive change for the country’s overall development.

Mr Jatau made the call on Saturday in Garaku when he received members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Agwada Branch, Nasarawa State.

The speaker advised youths to always channel their energies for peace promotion and development.

He appreciated the NYCN for the award given to him and assured them of his readiness to continue to empower the youths to achieve their potential.

“Youths are the backbone for any meaningful development. You should not allow yourselves to be used by any person but be agents of unity and peace at all times,” he said.

The speaker urged the youths and other state citizens to continue supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.

Bala Akuki, the council’s chairman, said the visit was to identify with the speaker on the successful celebration of New Year.

Mr Akuki begged the speaker to contest the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal constituency seat come 2027.

The chairman said their call was based on the speaker’s leadership qualities and achievements in the Kokona West constituency and the state.
