Musa Mohammed, accountant- general (AG) of Nasarawa State, says the government will begin payment of 50 per cent salary as end-of-year bonus to civil servants from December 27.

Mr Mohammed disclosed this in a statement made available  to journalists on Thursday in Lafia.

The AG explained that Governor Abdullahi Sule had directed the payment the bonus while addressing workers during the recent 2025 Civil Service Week celebration in the state

Mr Mohamed noted that the payment of the end-of-year bonus to civil servants was the first in the history of the state.

“The gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state and citizens in general.

‎”It is a clear demonstration of the governor’s appreciation for workers’ dedication, resilience, and service to the state throughout the year,”Mr  Mohammed added.

‎He explained that the decision to pay the bonus separately from the December 2025 salaries was  in adherence to proper accounting procedures and convenience.

‎The AG expressed optimism that civil servants would reciprocate the governor’s magnanimity through renewed dedication to their assigned responsibilities.
