The Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle U-14 Football League sustained its excitement in week two, producing 24 goals, surpassing the 21 recorded in the opening round.

The grassroots competition is held at the Nathaniel Idowu pitch in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun council in Lagos.

Organisers say the league is fast emerging as a platform for youthful attacking flair and competitive football among emerging talents.

The tournament is organised by the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, with backing from the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, to promote grassroots football development.

Pure Talents FA stayed impressive on Sunday, thrashing Young 11 FA 6–2, with Fidelis Prosper, Chukwu Gozie, Ajaloleru Yesiru and Adekunle Daniel on target.

Joseph Philip and Theodore Triumph scored for Young 11 FA, but their goals proved insufficient to halt the defeat.

Michael May FA claimed a 2–0 victory over Best of Best International, courtesy of strikes from Gavor Marvellous and Akinbowale Winner.

Bright Future FA and Divinely Blessed FA settled for a 1–1 draw, while Fortune FA cruised to a dominant 6–2 win against Strong Dove FA.

Sharp Talent FA defeated Ajegunle United SC 3–0, with goals from Divine Nwayawo, Sulaiman Ibrahim and Shogbamu Emmanuel.

Coal City FA completed the fixtures with a closely contested 2–1 victory over Moore Wins FA.

There has been growing support for the league, with Joy Ekwem pledging to provide water for all participating teams.

Kevin Osaze, CEO of Kevin Osaze Transport Services, donated ₦200,000 to organisers and ₦50,000 in educational support for Bright Future FA’s youngest player, Surajudeen Mujeeb.

Every Man of the Match received a T-shirt, courtesy of Lagos State FA vice chairman, Adedotun Coker, who said the gesture was to “encourage excellence”.
