The National Assembly says the first batch of induction programmes for the 10th assembly lawmakers-elect is slated for May 7 and 8.

It also announced that the second batch is for May 14 and 15.

The management expressed readiness for the inauguration of the lawmakers-elect following the conclusion of the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Ali Umoru, the chairman of the sub-committee on media and publicity, said in a statement on Thursday.

Mr Umoru stated that the induction and inauguration slated for May and June, respectively, were in conjunction with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).

“As part of the efforts to ensure a very successful induction/inauguration exercise, the management led by the clerk to NASS, Alhaji Sani Tambawal, has constituted a central planning committee (CPC) made up of all the secretaries in the National Assembly Service,” said the statement.

It added that committee membership was also drawn from NASS Service Commission (NASC) and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).
