The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has alerted communities in Kaduna of its plans to conduct its 2026 annual range classification exercise for personnel serving in the academy.

This is contained in a statement by the public relations officer of the NDA, Reuben Kovangiya, on Monday in Kaduna.

Mr Kovangiya said that the exercise would hold from May 4 to May 9 at the NDA open range, Afaka.

He said that the academy had put in place all necessary safety measures to ensure a safe and successful exercise.

He, however, advised residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and the Afaka general area to avoid trespassing or moving close to the range throughout the duration of the exercise.

“The general public is hereby advised to stay clear of the range area for their safety,” he said.

He also called on media organisations and community stakeholders to help disseminate the information for public awareness and safety.

The NDA spokesman appreciated the continued cooperation and understanding of the public.

He conveyed the assurances of the commandant of NDA, Oluyemi Olatoye, on the safe conduct of the exercise to the residents.
