The National Directorate of Employment, Kaduna State Directorate, has urged youths and women to register for the 93,731 employment programme for unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria.

The State Coordinator, Halima Waziri, gave the advice on Friday during a press briefing in Kaduna.

She said that the programme was under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of the Federal Government, in which the directorate would provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training.

Ms Waziri added that there would be complementary transient job opportunities in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets.

“This job creation initiative of the NDE finds effective expression in six out of the eight priority areas of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Start-up capital, equipment and working tools will be provided for deserving participants at the end of the training while others will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans,” she said.

According to her, the state directorate would engage 2,653 persons out of the 93,731, in which they would be trained in vocational skills, agriculture among others.

Ms Waziri explained that the exercise commenced on October 21 to end on December 31, 2024, urging interested persons to log on to www.nde.gov.ng to create an account and register online.

She said that a valid email address, passport photograph and National Identity Number or alternative identification would be needed for the registration.

Ms Waziri urged the applicants facing challenges in registering online to visit their state office at Yakubu Gowon Way, Kaduna, adding that successful candidates would be contacted for deployment to training outlets.
