NDLEA boss reaffirms commitment to education, welfare of officers’ families

The chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to officers’ children’s education and to improving the welfare of personnel and their families.
Mr Marwa gave the assurance on Friday in Abuja during a working visit to the newly launched pioneer NDLEA Command School at the agency’s Barracks in Yola, Adamawa State.
In a statement, NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi said Mr Marwa inspected the school facilities and interacted with pupils, students, and staff.
Addressing the students, the NDLEA boss charged them to embrace discipline, punctuality and academic excellence, stressing that these values are essential to their success and future aspirations.
He urged them to always be punctual in school, take their studies seriously, read diligently and work hard to pass their examinations.
Mr Marwa also reminded them of the importance of worshipping God and obeying their parents and teachers while making the avoidance of illicit drugs a non-negotiable part of their lives.
The NDLEA chairman assured that he would continue to support the development of the pioneer school to ensure that it provides quality education and becomes one of the leading schools in the country.
He noted that establishing the institution reflected the agency’s commitment to creating opportunities for the children of its personnel to access quality education within their immediate community.
During the visit, Mr Marwa also interacted with members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and others residing in the barracks.
The women thanked the chairman for bringing the pioneer Command School to the barracks, describing the initiative as a significant investment in their children’s education and future.
They also acknowledged his leadership strides and the transformation recorded in the agency under his watch.
Mr Marwa disclosed that plans were already at an advanced stage towards the inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association, which would provide a formal platform for the wives of officers to organise, collaborate and contribute meaningfully to the welfare and well-being of the NDLEA family.
The NDLEA boss reiterated his commitment to initiatives that strengthen the institution, support personnel and promote the well-being of their families.
The chairman was accompanied on the visit by the Zone II commander, Ishaku Kwajafa, and other senior officers of the agency.
