NEDC executed 134 projects in Taraba: Official

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) says it has executed at least 134 projects in various sectors in Taraba State.
Muhammed Alkali, the managing director of NEDC, stated this on Monday when the management and board of the commission visited Governor Agbu Kefas in Jalingo.
Mr Alkali said they were in the state to monitor some ongoing projects and introduce the newly inaugurated members of the board to the governor.
He said most of the projects have been completed and ready for handing over, while some are at various stages of execution and will be completed within the stipulated time.
Responding, the governor commended the commission and pledged his administration’s collaboration and support for the commission.
He said the visit attests to the commission’s commitment to the region’s development.
“I am aware of the challenges confronting our region in the areas of infrastructure and security. I am optimistic that with the right collaboration, we shall overcome it,” the governor said.
Stating that NEDC plays a crucial role, he pledged the state government’s support to ensure the implementation of the commission’s projects.
“Let me call on all other stakeholders to join us in achieving the desired development of our dear state, as we cannot limit ourselves to the government alone.
“The task ahead of us as stakeholders is enormous but not insurmountable,” he said.
