Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s two-week ceasefire with Iran, but stressed that the agreement did not include Lebanon.

A statement by Mr Netanyahu’s office early on Wednesday said Israel supported Mr Trump’s decision to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, provided Tehran immediately reopened the Strait of Hormuz and stopped all attacks on the United States, Israel and countries in the region.

“Israel also supports the U.S. effort to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile and terror threat to America, Israel, Iran’s Arab neighbors and the world,” the statement said. “The United States has told Israel that it is committed to achieving these goals, shares by the U.S., Israel and Israel’s regional allies, in the upcoming negotiations.”

He added, “The two-weeks ceasefire does not include Lebanon.”

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country has been mediating talks, had earlier written on X that Iran and the U.S., along with their allies, had agreed to an “immediate ceasefire everywhere”, including in Lebanon.
