New NDIC management pledges effective service delivery, protection of bank customers
Members of the newly inaugurated management of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) have promised to discharge their duties effectively in line with the mandate of the corporation.
The new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NDIC, Thompson Sunday, said this on its official X account on Friday.
Mr Sunday assured Nigerians that the team would live up to expectations.
He said that the team would ensure the protection of depositors and contribute to the stability of the financial system.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing members of the management team.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, while inaugurating the team, charged its members to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their assignment.
Mr Edun said that the NDIC, as a component of the financial safety-net, had a crucial role to play in the country’s march to economic stability and prosperity.
He assured the NDIC management team of the ministry’s support.
Mr Sunday was appointed as the new NDIC CEO while Dr Kabir Katata was appointed as the Executive Director (Operations).
