Newborn found dead in Kano well

Tragedy struck as a newborn drowned inside a well at Ruguzau in the Takai Local Government Area in Kano.
This is contained in a statement by the public relations officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, on Wednesday in Kano.
He said the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
He stated, “We received an emergency call at about 2:14 p.m. from one Sabo Ladan that a baby’s body was found floating in a well. We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 2:18 p.m. On arrival, our men found a newborn in the well.’’
Mr Abdullahi said the baby was brought out of the well unconscious and the latter confirmed that he was dead.
He said the investigation was ongoing on the incident.
