As America marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks coordinated by al Qaeda, Britain’s ‌MI5 spy agency has warned that the next attack could happen where no one is looking at, warning that global intelligence must not dwell too much on past threats.

MI5’s director-general Ken McCallum made this call on Friday to mark 25th anniversary of 9/11 attacks that claimed 2,997 lives.

“The uncomfortable truth is that the next strategic shock may already be taking shape somewhere we are not yet looking,” Mr McCallum stated. “We know that the next strategic shock ?will, by definition, not resemble the last one. That is perhaps the most important lesson of all.”

The MI5 chief added, “We must of course always learn from the last attack – but must beware of preparing brilliantly to fight yesterday’s enemy, using yesterday’s methods, against yesterday’s target…

This year September 11, marks the 25th anniversary of deadly terrorists attack on World Trade Centre and the Pentagon in America, killing at least 2,977 people.

Osama bin Laden-led al-Qaeda terrorists deploy four hijacked commercial planes to strike America. Two of the hijacked planes crashed into and wreck the World Trade Centre—Twin Towers—in New York City, one of the planes hit the Pentagon,  U.S. military headquarters outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth crashed into field un rural Pennsylvania as passengers fought bavk at hijackers.

The 9/11 attacks claimed the lives of people across 77 countries, causing global mourning and eliciiting a vigorous push and change in the global fight against terrorism.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump issued a proclamation declaring 9/11 ‘Patriot Day 2026’.
