NFC announces Femi Shaka as jury chairman for Zuma Film Festival

The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has announced Femi Shaka as the Chairman of the eight-member jury to adjudicate on all entries in the Competition Category of Zuma Film Festival (ZUFF).
This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Brian Etuk, NFC’s Director of Public Affairs.
Mr Etuk said that Prof. Shaka and other members of the jury were expected to bring their wealth of experience to bear in selecting winners.
“Membership of the jury includes both Nigerian and foreign film stakeholders, who have contributed immensely to the growth of film production.
“Shaka is one of the most revered arts, theatre and film development scholars and specialists.
“He has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria’s vibrant movie industry also known as Nollywood.
“He is a well-known strong advocate for cinema as a tool for national development, through regular campaigns for establishment of a department of film and television studies,” he said.
He said that composition of the jury reflected the weight of ZUFF, which he described as one of the fastest growing international film festivals in the world.
The 13th edition of the ZUFF will hold from December 1 to December 10 in Abuja with the theme “Cultural Convergence”.
Submissions of entries by filmmakers, which opened on June 15, will close at midnight of November 15.
Entries are submitted on https://film freeway.com/zumafilmfestival or to Zuma Film Festival Secretariat, NFC Headquarters Jos.
