NFL star Tom Brady announces retirement

National Football League (NFL) legendary quarterback Tom Brady has retired from American Football after 23 successful seasons.
Tom Brady, viewed as one of the most iconic sportsmen in history and arguably the greatest NFL player in American Football, announced his retirement via a video message on his social media page on Wednesday.
“I’ll get to the point right away,” the 45-year-old stated in the clip. “I’m retiring – for good. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.”
The NFL star added, “It won’t be long-winded. You only get one super-emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year. Thank you so much to every single one of you for supporting me – my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors. I could go on forever – there’s too many. Thank you for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all.”
The footballer retired as a seven-time Super Bowl champion, with six championships with New England Patriots and the last one he won in 2021 with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the two teams where he spent his entire career.
This is not the first time Tom announced retirement from the sport. In 2022, the star said he was done with the sport.
But, he reversed the decision the same year to become the oldest player to become the oldest quarterback to start a game in NFL history in the Buccaneers’ season-opening game against the Dallas Cowboys in the 2022 season.
In October 2022, Tom and his wife Gisele Bundchen announced the dissolution of their longtime marriage after months of speculation. They were married for 13 years and had two children together.
Tom retired as the NFL’s all-time regular-season leader in pass attempts (12,050), completions (7,753), passing yards (89,214) and touchdown passes (649). He is also the league’s leader in all four categories in the post-season.
