“Dear God, release your immediate intervention in this matter,” Nicki Minaj said in a post on X on Sunday, sharing video of Pope Leo XIV praying for the release of those held hostage by terrorists in Nigeria and Cameroon.
The American rapper said “Rescue the hostages and may the peace that surpasses all understanding fall upon their families right now. Lord, we know your power. With faith & thanksgiving in advance, we claim the victory. In the mighty name of JESUS.”
The American had lent her voice in campaign against alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria in recent weeks, advocating prompt intervention at the UN conference last week.
Last week, terrorists abducted over 350 people during coordinated attacks in Kebbi, Kwara and Niger states among others.
As of today, 38 people abducted from the Christ Apostolic Church Eruku, Kwara State, have been released, while 50 pupils among over 300 abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School Papiri, Niger State, had also regained their freedom.
However, over 250 are still in captivity, including 28 schoolgirls abducted in Kebbi State last week Monday.
