Nico O’Reilly nets brace as Man City beat Arsenal to win Carabao Cup

Manchester-born Nico O’Reilly emerged hero as Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Wembley Stadium to win the 2025/26 Carabao Cup title.
It was a close match between the two teams still fighting hard in the race for the Premier League title but managed to keep each other at bay despite a couple of chances.
However, O’Reilly broke the deadlock exactly on the hour mark after Rayan Cherki’s high cross slipped through the hands of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, allowing the youngster to head the ball into the net.
Four minutes later, O’Reilly doubled the lead for Manchester City when he sent Arrizabalaga the wrong way with a header from Matheus Nunes cross to score his brace of the evening and sealed the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The result highlighted Guardiola as winning five Carabao Cup titles and becoming the first manager in the history of the tournament to achieve the feat.
