Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba has inaugurated the campaign council for the All Progressives Congress in preparation for the forthcoming House of Assembly bye-election in Munya LGA in Niger.

The bye-election scheduled for August 16 followed the death of Joseph Haruna, member representing Munya Constituency, on September 13, 2024.

Mr Garba urged the electorate to maintain civility during the bye-election and to vote for the APC for more people-oriented projects and progressive development of the locality.

“We must maintain civility and ensure a peaceful process,” he said.

He emphasised the need for the electorates to exercise their franchise in electing a good representative who would drive development in their localities.

The deputy governor assured the electorates of the APC-led administration of Governor Muhammad Bago’s commitment to providing good governance and accountability.

He thanked the youth and women for turning out en masse, which was an indication of their readiness to participate in the bye-election, promising that the party would deliver on its promise.

“Your presence here today shows your readiness to participate in the forthcoming bye-election,” he added.

Other areas visited by the deputy governor were Kuchi, Kabula, Gini, and Dangunun to drum up support for the party’s candidate.
