The Niger State police command has arrested a 27-year-old suspect, Hussaini Mohammed, with a Bajaj motorcycle suspected to have been stolen from Guye-Doko village in Kwara State.

The suspect, who hails from Guye-Doko village, was intercepted by a police patrol team in Mokwa.

In a statement sent to Peoples Gazette on Tuesday, Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested at about 3 a.m. on May 5.

“On 5th May 2026 at about 3 a.m., police patrol team attached to Mokwa division intercepted and arrested Hussaini Mohammed, 27 years of Guye-Doko village via Kwara State with one Bajaj motorcycle suspected to be a stolen property,” he said.

Mr Abiodun said that during interrogation, the suspect confessed that the motorcycle belonged to his father and that he left Kwara State for Kontagora to sell it without his father’s consent.

“His father was contacted for the motorcycle, and the suspect was charged to court for prosecution,” he said.
