Nigerian music star Davido has blamed Nigeria’s socio-economic and political woes on poor leadership.

“We can’t go forward without the right leaders in place. I feel that’s the most important thing,” Davido said in a recent video.

However, Davido praised the Nigerians’ resilience despite the myriad of challenges they grapple with daily.

“Like I always say, we adapt as a people. If you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere. I feel like we’re survivors; we’re real people,” he noted.

“I just feel the only thing missing is just right leaders to lead us. If you go anywhere in the world, everybody has a Nigerian friend, whether you’re Chinese. The biggest challenge is leadership, and once we get that right, I don’t think anything will stop us.”

Davido had, in a recent interview, described Nigeria’s economy as shambolic.
