Hannatu Musawa, the minister of art, culture and creative economy-designate, says though Nigeria is known as world’s capital of 419, the government of President Bola Tinubu will change the narrative.

In Nigeria, 419 means fraudulent and illegal activities for making Illicit gains.

“We will project the ministry in a way that we can really change the narrative of who Nigerians are. No longer are we going to be known as the 419 capital in the world!” Ms Musawa said.

“Through this ministry, we will be able to push the narrative that will put Nigeria at the forefront of not only entertainment but also culture because it’s a country with a diverse reach culture and that it’s something that we owe to protect.”

Ms Musawa made this statement during her visit to her home state Katsina on Thursday, according to Channels TV.

While urging Nigerians to support Mr Tinubu’s government, Ms Musawa said she will “employ the best hands and reach out to Nigerians in Diaspora in various areas they specialized in and persuade them to come back to Nigeria to put their hands in trying to move to the world to bring a positive change.

“Through this, we will also be able to build great revenue to support the Tinubu administration because I have the required experience.”

Ms Musawa’s comes amidst legal tussle over Mr Tinubu’s electoral victory before the Presidential Election Tribunal.

Opposition candidates, Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of Labour Party, are challenging Mr Tinubu’s victory on grounds that he failed to win 25 per cent vote in the Federal Capital Territory and his forfeiture of money linked to cocaine pushing in the United States of America.
