The Nigerian Army has renewed its partnership with King’s College London to strengthen strategic leadership training, collaborative research and human capital development.

The partnership was renewed through the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, and the university’s African Leadership Centre.

The director-general of NARC, James Myam, said in a statement on Wednesday that he led a delegation to sign the revised memorandum of understanding at King’s College London.

According to Mr Myam, the agreement, first signed in 2021, aims to promote knowledge exchange, collaborative research, and strategic leadership development for senior military officers. He thanked the African Leadership Centre for sustaining the partnership and welcoming his delegation.

Mr Myam described NARC as a centre of excellence committed to generating research-based solutions to Nigeria’s defence and security challenges. He reaffirmed the army’s commitment to developing its personnel through strategic partnerships with reputable academic institutions worldwide.

He restated the importance of research, knowledge exchange and professional development in strengthening leadership capacity.

According to him, the agreement is expected to deepen institutional cooperation, expand strategic leadership education and advance collaborative research between the army and the college.
