Nigerian-born British AI expert Abel Aboh appointed to Scotland’s data lab board

Abel Aboh, a Nigerian-born British leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert, has been appointed to the board of the Data Lab Innovation Centre, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Mr Aboh, who has, over the years, made significant contributions to the data and artificial intelligence space in the United Kingdom, is a renowned data and technology influencer.
His work experience cuts across various sectors from global financial services, such as defence, airline and sports. Currently, Mr Aboh is leading a strategic programme of work in the Bank of England.
Mr Aboh, while reacting to his appointment, said it was an honour and privilege to be part of the board, adding that he would contribute and provide strategic direction to the lab’s leadership.
“I am deeply humbled for this opportunity to contribute and help unlock the rich opportunities for AI and data not just in Scotland, UK, but across the world,” the AI expert stated. “By bringing in industry, academia and public sector to harness opportunities, connect people and ideas, develop knowledge and expertise for the good of humanity and society, thereby, creating a better and sustainable economy and society.”
Mr Aboh added, “I am deeply passionate and intentional about data, AI, transformation, innovation, education, technology, inclusion, social and global mobility.”
A graduate of the Strathclyde Business School, a leading UK business school and the University of Lincoln, Mr Aboh said he was working hard to keep representing Nigeria positively and fly the country’s flag in the global space.
