A yet-to-be-identified Nigerian loan organisation has deployed a stolen soundtrack to roll out photos of alleged defaulters in the country.

This development is the latest of several strategies used by various loan organisations in an attempt to recoup loaned money from their customers who default on repayments.

The viral soundtrack, posted by SikaOfficial on X and seen by Peoples Gazette on Saturday, displayed facial portraits of several alleged debtors, generating intense criticism from Nigerians.

While many condemned the attempt as grossly overboard and capable of damaging the reputation of defaulters, others described it as a grave breach.

“Even if I pay, there is no way this video will be erased from the internet or people’s phones. So in short, they should use the money they will generate from the trends they are creating with the images to settle the loans. Simple as that,” @Alfredo wrote.

Another commenter, @KT Samuel, faulted the soundtrack, implying its negative impact on the reputation of defaulters.

“Wrong. The debtors can sue and win,” he wrote.

D’Fathere noted, “Well we can all agree that once you put out my picture this way it’s over, not a single dime will be settled. I chop the disgrace finish.”
