The founder of Ashraaf Islamic Foundation, Sarafudeen Aliagan, has called Muslims to renew their faith and build resilience in performing their expected duties and secure the blessings promised by God and the Prophet Muhammad.

Mr Aliagan made the call at the 2025 Annual Maulud Nabiyy Celebration and Family Picnic on Sunday in Abuja. According to him, the issue of faith and resilience as far as Islam and humanity is concerned is germane.

“You cannot remain a creature of God without having faith in your creator. So that faith has to be developed and nourished. There is a law of diminishing return. What gave thought of the choice of the theme for this year’s Mualud Nabiyy of Ashraaf Islamic Foundation is that we found out that faith is diminishing in the hearts of those who claim to have faith in God.

“So we feel we should help them in reviving, developing the faith and making sure that it remains confirmed, affirmed and remains intact. We cannot live without challenges and difficulties.  It is only God that has no problems or challenges,” Mr Aliagan said.

He added that the most challenged Nigerian today is the president of the country, because of his position.

The chairman of the occasion, Ibrahim Oloriegbe, who is also the board chairman of National Health Insurance Authority, said the event is an observation of sallat required of every Muslim.

The guest speaker, Lawal Olohungbebe called on Muslims to adhere to the responsibilities to the family, community and the faith as enshrined in the Quran and the teachings of the prophet.

Mr Olohungbebe called for a review of curriculum in Islamic schools to include entrepreneurship and ICT, stressing that the times have changed with its dynamics of endeavours.

Mr Olohungbebe, the commissioner for education and human capital development in Kwara also advocated for the empowerment of women in the society, to enable them contribute positively to the development of the society.
