Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has maintained that his public service record remains untainted by bribery and corruption.

Speaking on Sunday on Channels TV, Mr Olukoyede stated that he had never “demanded or received” bribes in the course of his official duties.

“If you have ever offered me a bribe, and I collected, come out and say it,” Mr Olukoyede said.

The EFCC chief insisted that he has an unblemished public service record.

“All through my service in the public sector as chief of staff in the EFCC, as secretary in EFCC, and I made bold to say that I have never been involved in any fraudulent activities,” the EFCC boss said.

He added, “I served as chief of staff, no Nigerian, and I challenged anybody to say that ‘this man has ever collected one bottle of Coke or N1’ to influence my sense of judgment in carrying out my responsibility.

“As a secretary, I have cause to manage assets and to dispose of assets, and never, you can’t trace an asset to me or any of my family as a matter of principle. And no Nigerian can say I collected one dime in the course of carrying out my activities.

“So, the issue of fraudulent indictment, I don’t know where that would have come from in the first place…I do my work with every sense of diligence and commitment, loyalty to the mandate.”
