Nigerians should pray more for Buhari, other leaders: APC
Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, has appealed to Nigerians to dedicate themselves to more prayers during Easter to seek divine intervention and guidance for President Muhammadu Buhari and other country’s leaders.
Mr Buhari is currently vacationing in the UK. The presidency said he jetted out of the country for a routine medical vacation amid a nationwide strike by Nigeria’s resident doctors.
Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, appealed in a statement on Friday in Abuja, saying that the Easter period should be used to pray for Nigeria to overcome its challenges and for its prosperity.
He said, “As people of faith, we should dedicate ourselves to more prayers during Easter to seek divine intervention and guide our leaders right.”
According to a statement issued by Mamman Mohammed, Mr Buni’s media aide, the APC chieftain also called for love, unity, peace, harmony, and tolerance among Nigerians.
He called on religious leaders to use the occasion of Easter to preach peace, tolerance, and unity among Nigerians.
“We should see ourselves as a people with common dreams and aspirations for a greater Nigeria that is full of love, tolerance, unity, and prosperity.
“We have no other country than Nigeria. We should therefore work to unify and strengthen our dear country,” Mr Buni added.
He further called on Nigerians to see a problem in any part of the country as a common and shared problem that should be tackled collectively.
He wished all Christians and Nigerians a peaceful Easter celebration, love, and abundant peace.
